Therapy-Infused Playgroup Pilot Program

As we work toward opening our full-scale inclusive long daycare centre in 2026, Constellation Kids is proud to offer a therapy-infused playgroup pilot program in partnership with Weeroona Association. This program represents the first stage of our long daycare model and provides immediate support to children with developmental differences and additional needs in the Gympie region.
Our playgroup is designed for children aged 2–6 who require therapeutic support to thrive. It combines small-group early learning with embedded therapeutic approaches, supporting emotional regulation, social development, language, sensory needs, and confidence-building.

A Therapeutic Approach to Early Childhood
The playgroup offers more than just play and supervision. This is a pilot program specifically designed for children with NDIS plans. It provides a structured and responsive environment that meets individual therapy goals while also preparing children for future participation in a long daycare or kindergarten setting.
Throughout the day, children engage in supported group play, child-led learning activities, and therapeutic routines. Our qualified allied health professionals work alongside experienced educators to ensure the environment is neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and highly responsive to each child’s needs.
Therapy Within the Program
Children attending the playgroup have access to the following therapy supports, funded through their individual NDIS plans:
Occupational Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy
Play-Based Counselling and Psychology Support
Therapy is delivered both:
One-on-one - by qualified clinicians during the playgroup hours, with clear goals linked to each child’s NDIS plan.
Embedded into daily routines - with therapeutic strategies interwoven into group activities, transitions, and interactions.
This approach ensures that each child’s developmental and emotional needs are met in a holistic, naturalistic way - reducing the need for separate clinic appointments and allowing therapy to occur in context.
A Stepping-Stone to Long Daycare
This playgroup is the first phase of our larger vision: an inclusive, therapy-integrated long daycare centre opening in Gympie in 2026. Our long daycare model will expand on the playgroup’s approach, offering full-day care with:
Higher educator-to-child ratios
Onsite allied health services
A neurodiversity-affirming curriculum
Access for all children with additional needs, regardless of NDIS status
